Chief Minister Raman Singh on 21 October met the families of 23 jawans who were killed in separate Naxal encounters.
Singh also attended the Police Commemoration Day parade here, where he paid homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the state and the nation.
"We hoist our flag as a symbol of pride of our forces. Our forces have grown in the years. We see the kind of passion and commitment our troops have shown towards our nation and their duty," he said, while addressing the parade.
Police Commemoration Day is celebrated every year on October 21, as a mark of respect to those ten policemen who died in Chinese firing in 1959.
