The Central Bureau of Investigation will investigate former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav in the illegal mining case of minerals after the agency conducted raids at various locations in Lucknow and Kanpur today.
Today, CBI raided the residences of various IAS officers and other bureaucrats in the states capital who have been serving during the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav government.

As per news agency ANI, the CBI has said that these are the accused in the illegal mining case, which includes “Adil Khan, B.Chandrakal, then mining officer Moinuddin, SP MLC Ramesh Mishra&his brother, mining clerk Ram Ashray Prajapati, Ambika Tiwari (Hamirpur), mining clerk Ram Avatar Singh & his relative and Sanjay Dikshit are accused.”
Further the CBI said, “From 2012 to 2013, Akhilesh Yadav was the Mining minister. All those who were ministers in that period, their role will be investigated.”
Although, Opposition leaders are crying political vendetta and saying that the Narendra Modi government is using the watchdogs to make way for the 2019 elections.
