Congress MLA Tanveer Sait was attacked by an unidentified person with a sharp knife on his neck while the MLA was attending an event at Mysuru in Karnataka on the wee hours of Monday.
According to sources, the accused walked close to the MLA and attacked his neck with a knife. Soon after attacking on Sait, the miscreant tried to flee from the spot, however, nabbed by the people present there.
He was also thrashed before being handed over to the local police.

Sait was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru where he underwent surgery.
