By-poll results: BJP wins 5 seats; Congress clinches 2 Karnataka seats

The Bharatiya Janata Party has won five seats in the results declared so far of the recently held by-polls, while Congress claimed 2 seats.

The BJP has bagged the crucial Rajouri Garden seat in New Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party has been pushed to third place.

BJP has emerges as winner in Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam and Madhya Pradesh.

Here are the updates:

03: 15 PM - Congress' MC Mohan Kumari (Geetha Mahadev Prasad) wins (90,260 votes) by defeating BJP candidate CS Niranjan Kumar.

03: 14 PM - With 86,212 votes, Congress party's Kalale N Keshavamurthy wins over V Srinivas Prasad of BJP (64,878 votes) in Karnataka, Nanjangud by-polls.

03: 00 PM - Congress's Hemant Katare extends lead over BJP's Arvind Bhadoria by 4565 votes in Madhya Pradesh's Ater assembly seat.

02: 55 PM - BJP wins Dholpur by poll in Rajasthan by a record margin of 40,000 votes.

01:30 PM - BJP's Shivnarayan Singh wins from Bandhavgarh with a margin of 25476 votes.

12: 40 PM - Trinamool Congress candidate Chandrima Bhattacharya wins from West Bengal's Kanthi Dakshin

12: 10 PM - BJP's Shivnarayan Singh wins from Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh.

12: 05 PM - BJP-SAD candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa wins by a margin of 14,652 votes in Delhi's Rajouri Garden.

12: 01 PM - BJP's Ranoj Pegu wins Assam's Dhemaji assembly bypoll by a margin of 9,285 votes.

11: 50 PM - BJP-SAD candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa leading by a margin of 14,652 votes in Delhi's Rajouri Garden, Congress is 2nd, while AAP slipped to 3rd position. 

11:20 AM - TMC's Chandrima Bhattacharya leading by a margin of 29084 votes to BJP's S M Jana in West Bengal's Kanthi Dakshin assembly bypoll.

10:50 AM - BJP's Anil Dhiman wins from Bhoranj seat by 8290 votes.

10: 30 AM - Congress leading from both Nanjangud (by a margin of 15896 votes) and Gundlupet seats. 

10: 25 AM - BJP leading from both Ater and Bandhavgarh.

10: 20 AM - BJP candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa continues to lead in Rajouri garden by a margin of 5928 votes, followed by Congress. Aam Aadmi Party is in third place.

 

10:00 AM - BJP's Shivnaryan Singh was ahead in Bandhavgarh against his rival Savitri Singh of Congress with 5,477 votes after the fourth round.

09: 50 AM - Early trends show BJP leading on 5 out of 10 assembly constituencies in by polls in 8 states.
