After a month, Yogesh Raj, the main accused of the deadly protests against cow slaughtering that shook the nation in which 2 people including a police inspector was killed, has been arrested. Raj is a member of the right-with Bajrang Dal, who had earlier claimed to be innocent in a video message.
Yogesh Raj, "Accused no 1" in the killing of the police officer in mob violence over alleged cow slaughter, was on run since the incident took place. He was handed over to cops by leaders of his Bajrang Dal.

Raj has been accused of instigating mob violence on December 3 after the discovery of cow carcasses from a forest. He had filed a complaint of cow killing naming 10 accused.
Inspector Subhodh Kumar Singh, who was on duty when the violence broke, was attacked by the mob of around 400 people, who hit with rocks and then beat him with sticks. Then they chased his car to a field where he was killed. A 20-year-old local man also died in the violence.
