A bomb threat was detected in the Mumbai-Lucknow Indigo flight via Delhi, which was grounded thereafter, the airport staff has said.

A call was made from an unknown person about the bomb in the flight and the airplane was immediately taken to an isolated bay for a check with a secondary ladder point by the BTAC (Bomb Threat Assessment Committee) and they said after a while that the threat was “specific,” as per the reports in the news agency PTI.

Although, a thorough check was made in and outside the flight and the BTAC later on declared that the plane was “safe,” and the claim which was made on a phone call was bogus and hoax.

An airport source told the PTI that “A woman passenger travelling to Delhi on Go Air flight G8 329 approached an IndiGo check-in counter at T1 and informed that there was a bomb in IndiGo's flight 6E 3612 (operating on Mumbai - Delhi/Lucknow route).”

The source also added later on that, “A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was convened in CISF Assistant Commander's office which declared the threat a specific one.”

The Indigo airlines is yet to give an official statement and until then the report lies in contention of being true and its all based on the report published in the PTI, on the basis of a airport source.
