Shah said, “ The manifesto is based on 9 points. These are the 9 pillars of our vision for the development of 'New Odisha'.”
BJP president Amit Shah, while narrating the special points, said, “We promise capital punishment for rape convicts. Farmers to get loan at 0% interest. Small&medium farmers will be given Rs 3000/month pension after 60 yrs of age. Rs 3500 Cr fund for Skill Odisha, benefitting 20 Lakh people in 5 yrs. Rs 1000 Cr startup fund to be made.”
Odisha has been under the control of Biju Janta Dal’s Naveen Patnaik since its formation and as per media reports, the state might be looking at an alternative now. Patnaik has lost some of the key leaders, like Jay Panda and others, who switched the side with the BJP ahead of the polls.
The election is scheduled to begin from April 11 and the results will be declared on May 23.
