New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MP Ravishankar Prasad has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of conspiring with Hindenburg to create economic instability in India.
Prasad claimed that the failed India-centric alliance, which aimed to oust Prime Minister Narendra Modi from power, is now engaged in a conspiracy to create economic chaos in the country. He alleged that the Congress party is working in tandem with Hindenburg, a research firm, to achieve this goal.
The BJP leader pointed out that Hindenburg's chief investor, George Soros, has been running a propaganda campaign against India. He questioned why the Congress party, which ruled the country for 55 years, is now colluding with Hindenburg to create economic instability.
Prasad recalled that last year, Hindenburg's report was released, and in January, the Supreme Court issued an order, following which 22 investigations were completed in 2024. He asked why the Congress party, which has been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe, did not cooperate with the investigations.
He also highlighted that in July, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a notice to Hindenburg, asking it to respond to allegations of violating laws. However, Hindenburg has not provided any response, instead, it has made baseless allegations.
Prasad accused the Congress party of indulging in "Toolkit politics" and "Cheat politics," stating that they are trying to crash the Indian stock market. He also referred to the Pegasus issue, saying that the Congress party and its leaders did not present themselves before the Supreme Court during the hearing and did not cooperate with the investigation.
The BJP leader also reminded that during the 10-year rule of Manmohan Singh, several scams, including 2G, coal, Commonwealth, and Augusta Westland, took place, involving foreign investors, but no such report was ever released.
