In Bihar’s Gaya district, a neighbor found a two-year-old playing outside home; he took her into his house and allegedly raped her. The toddler has to be hospitalized, now in a critical condition battling for life.
Informing about the incident, Vishnupad police station house officer Udai Kumar said “The cries of the girl alerted passersby, who rushed to her rescue. One of the local residents informed the police, who rushed the victim to the JPN Hospital in a subconscious state. The condition of the child is said to be critical”.
Relatives and acquaintances created chaos and went on the rampage after the incident came to light.
Some of them even hurled stones at the police station and demanded to hand over the accused to them to punish him. The police registered a case against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, said Kumar.
The shocking incident came to light virtually a month after a woman and her daughter were gang-raped in Gaya district. Reports of sexual crimes against minors have been raging as they are becoming the soft-target of the criminals. The authority failed to curb such shocking incidents happening around the country.
