In the city of Munger, Bihar, a horrific incident unfolded when a bride was shot by a Bihar Police personnel just hours before her scheduled marriage.
The accused, identified as Aman Kumar, is currently posted in Patna. He committed this shocking act at a beauty parlour where the bride was getting ready for her wedding ceremony.
The Incident
The bride, Apoorva Kumari, a 26-year-old resident of Maheshpur, Tarapur Diara, arrived at a beauty parlour located at Kasturba Water Works in the Kasim Bazar police station area. Little did she know that this joyous occasion would turn into a nightmare. Aman Kumar, the accused, accompanied the bride to the parlour. While Apoorva was getting dressed, Aman stood behind her, giving the impression that he was a family member.
Tragedy Strikes
As the bride was preparing for her big day, Aman Kumar suddenly took out a pistol and fired a bullet at her from behind. The bullet pierced through her left shoulder, exiting from the right side of her chest. The parlour staff, taken aback by the sudden act of violence, intervened swiftly to prevent Aman from harming himself.
Staff's Account
The staff members at the beauty parlour recounted the harrowing incident. Aman Kumar loaded the bullet into the pistol and shot the bride from behind.
In a desperate attempt to escape the consequences of his actions, he also tried to shoot himself. Fortunately, one of the staff members managed to stop him. The accused, however, managed to flee the scene before he could be apprehended.
Police Response
Upon receiving information about the incident from the bride's father, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sadar, Rajesh Kumar, and other police personnel rushed to the location. They promptly recorded statements from the family members and reviewed the CCTV footage to identify the accused.
Investigation and Arrest
The police authorities interacted with the beauty parlour staff and analyzed the CCTV footage, successfully identifying the youth responsible for the shocking act. Raids were initiated to track down and arrest Aman Kumar, ensuring that he faced the consequences of his heinous crime.
Victim's Condition
The injured bride was immediately admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment. The Civil Surgeon at Sadar Hospital, PM Sahay, reported that the bullet had passed through the victim's right shoulder, causing a non-life-threatening injury. Apoorva Kumari was declared to be out of danger, and medical professionals conducted a CT scan to assess her condition further.
Evidence Recovery
During the investigation, the police discovered a pistol, a hollow point bullet, and two live cartridges at the scene of the incident. These crucial pieces of evidence would aid in building a solid case against the accused.

The police authorities vowed to thoroughly investigate the matter from all possible angles. SDPO Kumar assured the public that they were leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to bring justice to the victim and ensure the perpetrator faced appropriate legal consequences.
