As the Bharat Bandh called against the amendment in the SC/ST Act, protesters took to streets to protest against the move on Thursday. Protesters blocked the railways in Bihar’s Dharbhanga and Munger districts.

In Bihar’s Arrah, Bharat bandh has been called by upper caste groups and stopped a train. The markets were closed.

In Varansi too, People held protest. They burnt Prime Minister Modi’s effigy as a mark of protest.

In Madhay Pradesh, the government already took preventative measures to handle the protest. Security heightened in Bhopal and other districts of the state. Section 144 has been imposed in some of the districts in the state.
The police said”Forces have been divided judiciously across the districts. It has been peaceful till now. Nobody can force anyone to be a part of the bandh.”
