Bengaluru: A 25-year-old cab driver was apprehended by the police in Bhoganhalli, Karnataka, for allegedly assaulting a woman passenger on Thursday.

Mistaken Identity 


The woman had booked a cab to take her son to the hospital. While waiting, they mistakenly entered a different cab. Upon realizing the error and attempting to exit, the driver prevented them from leaving. The driver reportedly assaulted the woman by hitting her suddenly on the head.

Prompt Intervention by Locals

Residents witnessed the assault and intervened promptly, rescuing the woman from the situation. The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, providing crucial evidence.

Action Taken

The police were informed of the incident, leading to the driver's arrest. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including charges related to causing hurt and intentional insult.
