Samajhwadi Party leader MP Azam Khan apologised in Lok Sabha on Monday over his derogatory remark against BJP MP Rama Devi.

He says, "Meri aisi koi bhavna Chair ke prati na thi na ho sakti hai. Mere bhashan aur acharan ko sara sadan janta hai, iske bawjood bhi Chair ko aisa lagta hai ki mere se koi galti hui hai toh main uski kshama chahta hun."

Azam Khan's apology came after the meeting held between SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Azam Khan and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla in the House before the Lok Sabha session begins on Monday.

However, MP Rama Devi refused to accept Khan's apology and said that Azam Khan’s behavior has hurt the women and the nation. He will not understand and will not even change. He has always made such remarks. He says whatever comes to his mouth, this needs to change.

The controversy in Lok Sabha erupted when Azam Khan made a shocking remark against Bihar MP Rama Devi during the debate of Triple Talaq Bill on July 25.
