The Vishva Hindu Parishad in the mega rally organized in Ayodhya has said that they won’t accept any division of land and they want whole of it to build the Ram Temple.
The VHP is organizing the Dharam Sansad in Ayodhya with over 1 lakh supporters and the RSS has also joined in with another 1 lakh supporters. The Shiv Sena, along with Uddhav Thackeray and family, reached Ayodhya yesterday and are demanding for the construction of Ram Mandir.
In the midst of the election rallies, the Ram Temple rhetoric has again risen over the top and the right-wing forces have come together to build a consensus over the issue. But, VHP leader Champat Rai has clearly stated that “division of land is unacceptable and they require whole land to build the Ram temple.”
Earlier, the RSS general secretary, Manmohan Vaidya has said that “Ram temple is a matter of national pride and glory. Just like Sardar Patel got Somnath temple rebuilt, the government should acquire the land and hand over it for Ram temple construction. Govt should make law for that,” after the Supreme Court had deferred the hearing until January in the title land dispute of Ayodhya.
The VHP, which led the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition drive, with lakhs of Kar Sevaks has said that they are not ready to accept the division formula and the temple will be constructed even if the apex court rules in favour of the Muslims.
The Babri Masjid was demolished in December 1992 and since then, the issue of constructing a new Ram Temple has always found its place in the manifestos of the BJP, election after election but the question remains, whether it will be done constitutionally, under the purview of Supreme Court or as per the mob justice.
