The man who attacked Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid has been captured in the CCTV. Police have recovered the CCTV footage in which the attacker can be seen fleeing from the spot.
He was captured in the camera which was installed near Vitthal Bhai Patel House on Sansad Marg.

The JNU leader Umar was allegedly attacked outside the Constitution Club in New Delhi on 13th August. An unknown tried to shoot at Umar Khalid when he was outside the Constitution Club.
However, Umar Khalid got escaped unhurt. While the assailant fled away from the spot and also left his weapon.

Later, an FIR has been lodged at the New Delhi Police Station. The crime branch is doing the investigation into the matter.
Umar Khalid was present at the venue to attend an event 'Khauff Se Azaadi', which was conducted by an organization named 'United Against Hate'.
As per the reports of news agency ANI, an eyewitness told that there was an event and Umar Khalid was joined them. He told that they were at the tea stall when a man in a white shirt came, pushed and opened fire at him. However, Khalid lost his balance and fell down due to which bullet missed him. The eyewitness also told that they tried to catch the man but he fled away and left his pistol on the spot.
