Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Science on August 9, has been put on life support system as his health deteriorated, confirmed by AIIMS officials on Saturday.
According to the reports of the Hindu, former Finance Minister has been kept on ECMO (Extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation) or extracorporeal life support. This the technique of providing prolonged cardiac and respiratory support to persons whose lungs and hearts are unable to function properly to sustain life.
Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan also rushed to AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) where BJP leader and former Union Minister Arun Jaitley is admitted. Home Minister Amit Shah had also visited the hospital yesterday late night, ANI reported.

Earlier on Friday, President Ram Nath Kovind also visited the hospital to inquire about the health condition.
The 66-year-old leader is said to be critical and he is under the supervision multidisciplinary team of doctors.
Since August 9, when Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS after he complained of palpitation and anxiety, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) has not released any bulletin regarding Jaitley’s health condition.
