The craze of shooting Instagram reels has claimed another youth's life. a 16-year-old boy lost his life in Hyderabad on May 6 while filming an Insta reel on railway tracks with a speeding train in the background.
The boy, identified as Mohammad Sarfraz, was fatally hit by a fast-moving train in Sanath Nagar. According to the deceased minor's father, Sarfraz had left home to attend Friday prayers. Hours later, two of Sarfraz's friends came to his house and informed his parents that he was found unconscious near the railway tracks.
As per news agency IANS, Sarfraz and his friends went to the railway track to create Instagram reels. He stood close to the track with his back towards the fast approaching train while his friends were shooting his video.
Tragically, during the shoot, the Class 9 student was struck by the speeding train and died on the spot.
Police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the matter. Cops also recovered the smart phone used for the shoot.
In an unrelated incident on the same day, a well-known YouTuber lost his life in a road accident while riding a racing bike at a speed of 300 kmph on the Yamuna Expressway. Agastya Chauhan was traveling from Agra to Delhi when the incident occurred at the 47-kilometer milestone of the expressway.
In March this year, 20-year-old college student fell to death from a sun shade of a building in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur while trying to film an Instagram reel with his college mate.
