Andhra Pradesh: Minor boys sexually assaulted after being lured with chocolates

Police arrested a man on December 4 for sexually assaulting two minor boys in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. The accused was identified as Praveen, alias Chinna.

According to the police, the minor boys were sodomized by the accused at a farm in Bitragunta village.

Under the guise of giving the kids chocolates, the accused took them on a bike to a eucalyptus farm, where he sexually attacked them.

“The accused took the kids on the bike, on the pretext of giving them chocolates and took them to a eucalyptus farm, where he sexually assaulted them,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kavali, Venkataramana. The accused also threatened minors not to tell anyone about the incident.

Police said that Praveen has confessed to the crime during the initial interrogation. A case has also been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.

Both the minors are students, one in Class 6 and the other in Class 7. Parents of the two minors registered the case against the accused after the children confided in them.

"Earlier also Praveen was booked in a case under section 109 IPC,” said that DSP.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
