In the tragedic accident that took place on Friday during the celebration of Dussehra celebration in Amritsar, killing at least 60 and leaving many more injured one man also died who was the lead in the Amritsar Ramleela.
Dalbir Singh, who played the role of Ravan in the Amritsar Ramleela, was among the over 60 people who were killed after a speedy train ran over them during Dussehra celebrations in the city on Friday evening.
Singh's mother said, "I appeal to the government to provide a job to my daughter-in-law. She also has an eight-month-old baby."

On Friday at least 60 people died and several got injured in the accident when the train ran over the crowd watching Dussehra celebration. While people were seen taking selfies when the accident took place.

The accident took place between Manawala and Ferozpur stations near Amritsar when a train crushed the crowd that had gathered across the tracks to watch the Dussehra event.
Currently, train services are suspended between Amritsar-Manawala railway section. We will hold a review at noon and a decision will be taken in this regard, said Deepak Kumar, CPRO, Northern Railway.
Punjab CM has directed Home Secretary, Health Secretary and ADGP Law and Order to immediately rush to Amritsar. Revenue Minister Sukhbinder Sarkaria deputed to immediately reach Amritsar to oversee rescue operations.
