In the tragedic accident in Amritsar where a crowd was crushed to death by a train while they were watching Dusshera celebration, leaving over 60 dead and 70 injured, the organiser of the event, railways are being accused of irresponsibility. Since the incident happened, the protestors and kin of the dead are alleging the organiser didn't take needed action before and after the incident.
In the response to the protests and allegations, the organiser of Dusshera event Saurabh Madan Mithoo had released video message. The organiser clarified that he had alerted the people to get off the track.
“I Had taken all permissions, had alerted crowd at least 10 times to not stand on tracks. I am extremely pained by the incident. Some ppl are trying to defame me,” said Mr Mithoo.

Speaking on the matter, earlier on Monday Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu confirmed that FIR had been registered in the matter. “Railway engine, police, guards, tracks belong to Centre & FIR also has been lodged by Centre. The driver was given clean chit within 6 hrs, why his name hasn't been revealed? Is it possible when a train is approaching guards can't see it,” said Navjot Singh Sidhu, Congress?
“A case has been registered with Government Railway Police in connection with the deaths. An ADGP rank officer monitoring overall situation.SIT has been constituted to investigate. A separate magisterial inquiry is underway,” said Commissioner of Police SS Shrivastava.
