The mob victim, Rakbar Khan, who was lynched over as suspicion of cow smuggling in Rajasthan's Alwar on Friday, died of shock and his injuries. Khan was allegedly beaten from a 'blunt weapon or object' after which he had multiple fractures, says a post-mortem report.
Rakbar Khan and his friend Aslam were attacked by villagers on Friday night who suspected them being a cow-smugglers. After which, he was beaten with sticks and stones, while his friend Alwar managed to escape. The 28-year-old was taken to hospital by the police three hours after the attack. He was declared dead on arrival.
According to the autopsy report, Rakbar died of shock as a result of his injuries. "There were injuries on the body ... internal bleeding leads to the death," said Rajeev Gupta, one of the doctors who performed the autopsy. The injuries were caused by a blunt weapon or object, said the report.
The Rajasthan cops allegedly took 'three hours' to reach Ramgarh Community Health Centre, which is roughly four kilometres from the spot Rakbar was lynched.
After the massive outrages over the mob victim's death in Rajasthan's Alwar due to delay by cops to take him to a health centre, Rajasthan Police on Monday suspended an Assistant Sub-Inspector and three police constables have been sent to police lines.
