While the two major parties of UP, namely SP and BSP are bound to announce their alliance formally, Congress party has issued warning saying that it can be a ‘dangerous mistake.’
Today, the SP-BSP supremo, aka Bua-Babua will hold a press conference in a five star hotel to formally announce the alliance and the seat sharing deal which as per sources, have been decided that 37 seats will be contested by SP and BSP each, while 4 will be given to the Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal and no candidates will be put up in the Amethi and Rae Bareli, where Congress’ scion Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi would be contesting from.
Akhilesh Yadav told the NDTV that “We can give the Congress two seats in Uttar Pradesh they have always held,” adding that “I don't want to say anything about the Congress because first we need to resolve the alliance of Samajwadi Party and BSP.”
Congress’ spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said that a grand coalition without the Congress party can be a dangerous option. He said, “We may have fallen on difficult times. But I think to ignore us can prove to be a very dangerous mistake, since everybody realises that, I think we will have a happy and harmonious solution sometime in the near future.”
Ajit Singh of the RLD, who as per reports, is demanding 6 seats for his party in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls, has said that “Talks over seat-sharing are still on, we haven't discussed seats yet.”
