AK 47, petrol bombs recovered from Dera headquarter

Self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction in a 15-year-old rape case led to violent protest in which 31 people lost their lives.

Controversies related to Ram Rahim refuse to die down. DGP Haryana, BS Sandhu has revealed that deadly weapons such as AK 47 and petrol bombs have been recovered from the headquarter in Dera, reported Aaj Tak.

During the search operation in Kurukshetra, police sealed nine ashram centres of the Dera Sacha Sauda. 2,500 lathis and sharp-edged weapons from Ram Rahim's supporters have also been seized.

It is being said that the people, who died during the violence, were the supporters of Ram Rahim.

Alleged goons of rapist Baba Ram Rahim got indulged violent protests in Haryana, Punjan and Delhi NCR. As the verdict was announced the situation got out of control and violence was raged. So far 31 people already have died in the violence in Haryana and Punjab, while 250 were injured.

Currently, the country is waiting for the quantum of punishment that will be announced on 28 August and it is expected that Ram Rahim will be jailed for 7 years.
