AirAsia flight makes emergency landing minutes after takeoff

A Lucknow-bound AirAsia flight has returned to Bengaluru after encountering some technical issues midair. Flight i5-2472 was scheduled to operate from Bengaluru to Lucknow today.

According to the AIX Connect spokesperson, the technical issue was minor and the pilot elected to return to Bengaluru, citing the safety of the passengers.

The spokesperson further stated that AirAsia has arranged alternatives for the passengers, and the airline is taking necessary steps to minimize the impact on other scheduled flights due to the current situation.

“AIX Connect confirms that i5-2472, scheduled to operate from Bengaluru to Lucknow, encountered a minor technical issue and elected to return to Bengaluru. Alternative arrangements have been made for impacted guests and we are taking steps to minimise impact on other scheduled operations,” said AIX Connect spokesperson.

On March 7, an Air Asia flight experienced a technical glitch in the power supply, which caused a delay in the disembarkation of passengers. The incident occurred at Tiruchi International Airport when an Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur landed at the airport.

On March 2, an Air Asia flight bound for Pune made an emergency landing at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar after a bird hit one of its engines. The incident occurred shortly after takeoff.
