After a green signal to the Tamil Nadu’s Sterlite plant by the National Green Tribunal, an autopsy report has suggested that the protesters were shot in head and chest by the police.

13 protesters, who were killed in the police firing during a protest at the Sterlite plant against Vednata’s copper smelter, were shot in their head and chest as per the autopsy report which was released today.

A forensic team expert said, as reported by the NDTV, that “The deceased would appear to have died of cardio-pulmonary arrest due to firearm bullet injury to the back of the neck.”

As Reuters visited one of the victim’s family, the mother of the teenager said, “We are continuing to exist, that's it.”

As of now, no police officer has been arrested or interrogated in the matter related to the open firing and killing of 13 protesters.
