Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address the country at around 8 am today from the ISRO’s control room.
"Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from ISRO Control Centre today (September 07, 2019) at 0800 hrs IST," the space agency tweeted.
The speech comes after ISRO lost it’s contact with the Vikram lander moments ahead of landing on the Moon’s surface
ISRO’s chairman K Sivan issued a statement stating that communication with the Vikram lander has been lost at 2.1 km away from the Moon’s surface.
"Vikram lander's descend was normal and as planned till 2.1 km. Subsequently, communication with Vikram lander was lost. Data is being analysed," he said.
ISRO in it’s last tweet was providing all the happenings about the lunar mission, before announcing the communication loss.
PM Narendra Modi who was there at the ISRO headquarters asked all the scientists to not lose hope and be corageous.
"Don't lose hope. Be courageous. There are ups and downs in life. What you all have done is not a small thing. You have done a great service to the country, science and mankind. I am with you. I wish you all the best," the Prime Minister told the scientists.
