Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, while replying to PM Narendra Modi’s challenge of acting against terrorists if he was a “Pathan’s son,” appealed to “give peace a chance.”

Imran Khan has assured in his statement, given on Sunday, that if India provides “actionable intelligence” and legitimate evidence in the Pulwama terror attack then Islamabad would immediately take strict action.

PM Narendra Modi recalled his first talks with Imran Khan, which was a congratulatory call after he won the General elections, and PM Modi had told him to “fight against poverty and illiteracy,” and Imran, to his reply, had said that he is a “Pathan’s son” and they speak and act truthfully.

India and Pakistan

PM Modi, who was recently rallying Rajasthan’s Tonk, said, “There is consensus in the entire world against terrorism. We are moving ahead with strength to punish the perpetrators of terrorism... The scores will be settled this time, settled for good...This is a changed India, this pain will not be tolerated...We know how to crush terrorism.”

In an official statement released by the Pakistan PMO on Sunday said, “PM Imran Khan stands by his words that if India gives us actionable intelligence, we will immediately act,” adding that “PM Modi should give peace a chance.”

Meanwhile, India is trying to build up a global consensus against Pakistan, as it is shielding the terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba, who have been directly responsible for several terror attacks in India.

Ministry of External Affairs, in its statement has said, “It is a well-known fact that Jaish-e-Mohammed and its leader Masood Azhar are based in Pakistan. These should be sufficient proof for Pakistan to take action.”
