Punjab Chief Minister on Thursday accepted the resignation of Rana Gurjit Singh, former Power and Irrigation Minister of Punjab. The announcement was made on Thursday after the meeting with Congress, President Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
“Rana Gurjit’s resignation has been accepted,” Amarinder said after a meeting with Gandhi.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Rana Gurjit had submitted his resignation to the CM on his alleged involvement in sand mine auctions in Punjab. “When my name appeared in the sand mining controversy, then too I had offered my resignation on moral grounds. On the same grounds, I have submitted my resignation to the CM,” Rana said.
The exact date of resignation submitted by Rana Gurjit is still not clear. However, the Minister said he drafted the resignation four days ago. According to Capt. Amarinder, he received the resignation on January 4, 2018.
