ACB arrests Hyderabad judge in disproportionate assets case; had Rs 3 crore in possession

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested a judge from the Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district court under the disproportionate assets case.

The judge was arrested after a series of raids were conducted by the ACB in Hyderabad and it was found that the judge was in possession of Rs 3 crore. The ACB came to know about this from the judges known sources.

“The judge was found to be in possession of assets, whose market value is more than Rs 3 crore, which is disproportionate to his known sources of income,” said the ACB in a statement.

The ANI tweeted, “Fourteenth Additional District Judge Vaidya Vara Prasad arrested & remanded to judicial custody after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recovered Rs 3 crore during raid at his locations.”

In April, a locale judge in Mahbubnagar Kolla Ranga Rao was suspended, after charges of debasement and a request by the high court. Around the same time, the high court suspended metropolitan sessions court judge in Hyderabad S Radhakrishna Murthy following assaults by the ACB. Another lesser common judge S Madhu in Jagitial area court was additionally suspended after a grievance that he was taking influences.

In March, judge M Gandhi of a work court in Hyderabad was suspended after ACB strikes on his home and distinguished tremendous resources unbalanced to his known wellsprings of wage. Both Madhu and Gandhi were captured following ACB cases, as reported by hindustan times.

The anti-corruption bureau has arrested the judge and the investigation has begun, he was the additional district judge.
