Linking of Aadhar card with the bank accounts, mobile number and with other important documents has been made mandatory by the government. However, Aadhaar card is not only necessary for the adults but also for the children.
As per the changes made by the government children who are going to school also need to have an Aadhaar card for their verification process.
Now the children below 5 years of age will also get an Aadhaar card without any biometric details. As per reports, they will have to complete their mandatory verification process at the age of 5 years and when they will turn 15-years-old, they will again have to face the verification process.
To make the process a little simpler for children, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) authorities have derived a new concept for the children below 5-year-old and that is from this year, children will get a blue 'Baal Aadhaar card.'
This information has been shared by the UIDAI on the official page. The official information read as, "A child below 5 years of age gets a blue in Aadhaar known as Baal Aadhaar. When the child becomes 5 yr old, a mandatory biometric update is required. Failing to do this till 7 years may result in suspension. #AadhaarForMyChild."
