The BJP will fight the 2019 Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Amit Shah, said sources. At a key meeting of the party, it has decided to defer internal polls to select a new chief as Amit Shah's term as president ends in January 2019.

However, party chief Amit Shah at a two-day meeting declared that BJP will return to power next year with a bigger victory than 2014. "We will come with an absolute majority. Sankalp ki shakti ko koi parajit Nahi kar sakta", says BJP President Amit Shah at BJP office bearers meeting.

The meeting was attended by senior party leaders and workers. The meeting was called to discuss the BJP's preparations ahead of elections in four states and the national election next year.

'Ajey BJP' slogan was raised at the meeting of the party's national office bearers and also presidents of its state units. "There has been an attempt to create confusion regarding SC/ST issue, but that won't cause any impact on 2019 elections", Mr Shah told the office bearers.

The party's two-day meeting gets affected by the clashes and outrages over the SC/ST Act, and signs of unrest among upper castes, a core support base of the BJP. The issues of the National Register of Citizens will also come up for discussion at the national executive meet, said sources in the party.
