In a major decision by a local court, the accused in the infamous Muzaffarnagar riots of 2013 have been imprisoned with life sentence and all the 7 convicts had rioted in Kawal village.
The 7 convicts include, Muzammil, Mujassim, Furkan, Nadeem, Jahangir, Afzal and Iqbal - are accused of killing 2 people - Gaurav and Sachin - and rioting in Kawal village.
The 2013 riots took place during the Samajwadi Party’s government and while Akhilesh Yadav was the chief minister.
