On Friday, DJ and producer Tim Bergling popularly known as Avicii has died in Muscat, Oman at the age of 28. His representative said in a statement: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman, this Friday afternoon local time, 20 April.
“The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
Sony/ATV Music Publishing in statement said, “We are mourning the incredibly sad loss of an exceptionally creative talent who we have been honored and proud to represent as one of our songwriters for a number of years. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
His fellow EDM musicians posted on social media, fans are devastated, people are in shock. Musician Calvin Harris was among the first to post, tweeting “Devastating news about Avicii, a beautiful soul, passionate and extremely talented with so much more to do. My heart goes out to his family. God bless you Tim x.”

Avicii was known for his songs such as Wake Me Up and Levels, which reached No 1 on the Billboard list of top dance club songs. He was nominated twice for a Grammy award for best dance recording, Avicii’s debut album True, released in 2013, madethe top 10 in 10 different countries.
