The second wave of coronavirus is breaking daily death records and ending many lives. The government, doctors, medical staff, and other frontline workers are still fighting to win this battle against the deadly virus. Amid this chaos, Internet has been filled with several heartbreaking stories that showed the pain of the doctors, COVID patients, and their families.
One such emotional story has been shared by a doctor, Dipshikha Ghosh on social media. In her post, Dr. Ghosh mentioned the story of a dying patient’s son who wanted to talk to her mother one last time via video call.
She narrated the story and said the son of the COVID patient sang the 1973 song ‘Tera Mujhse Hain Pehle Ka Nata Koi’ for his mother after realizing that she will not make it.

“Today, towards the end of my shift, I video called the relatives of a patient who is not going to make it. We usually do that in my hospital if it’s something they want. This patient’s son asked for a few minutes of my time. He then sang a song for his dying mother. He sang Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Nata Koi. I just stood there holding the phone, looking at him looking at his mother, and singing,” Dipshikha Ghosh said.
She further added, “The nurses came over and stood in silence. He broke down in the middle but finished the verse. He asked her vitals, thanked me, and hung up. Me and the nurses stood there. We shake our heads, our eyes moist. The nurses went back one by one to their allocated patients and attended to them or the alarms of vents/dialysis units. This song is changed for us, for me at least. This song will always be theirs.”

I have not spoken to her after my father's demise 20 days back. How I wish she just opens her eyes and talk to me.
As I am reading, my eyes are full of tears. It’s like I lost something.

Never get emotional. If despite your efforts, people die, so be it.
Never ever become emotional while doing your job.
Your sanity is most important.
Most important to you, your family and to your next patient.
Good luck doc.
I lost my mother when I was in 7th Standard. I remember the entire day how we spent that day . Remember each and every moment when she started collapsing . Today when I am 30 Yr. Old still miss her and don't have any option. Hope she is looking at me.
