Kolkata Knight Riders’ wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik took an amazing catch last night to dismiss Mumbai Indians opener Quinton de Kock. Karthik took the catch running backwards towards the third man position. The catch was so spectacular that from commentators to opposition everyone was in awe.
The incident took place in the 7th over of the second innings when de Kock was at 30 off 22. de Kock mistimed a shot he played off Prasidh Krishna’s ball and Karthik went for it. The ball went very high as Karthik got the time to cover the distance.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost their chance of qualifying for the play-offs selection as they lost the match by 9 wickets. Mumbai Indians chased down 133 runs in 16.1 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav finished the game for Mumbai as they scored 88 runs for the second wicket partnership.
Rohit Sharma scored 55 off 48 balls and dedicated his fifty to his daughter Samaira, who was also present in the stands with her mother Ritika. Surya Kumar scored 46 off 27 and finished the game in style with a six.
A rift was reported in Kolkata Knight Riders’ dressing room ahead of the match as skipper Dinesh Karthik in an interview complained about backbiting in the team. KKR’s assistant coach also Simon Katich also confirmed that the atmosphere around the team hadn't been the healthiest.
