Social media has had a significant impact on our lives, and many people have found new directions in life through social media.


Since 2013, Social Media Giving Day has been observed, highlighting how social media can be used for fundraising and donations to help those in need.

Prashant Pal, CEO and Founder of a private NGO that empowers women said that their organization has received support from all over the country. They started the NGO to encourage women entrepreneurs in rural areas, including Jaipur.

They have helped over 800 women become self-sufficient by promoting their skills in sewing, handicrafts, beauty parlours, and vegetable shops.

Social media has played a significant role in their campaign, with people donating over Rs 50 lakh to the cause. They have also received $75,000 in funding from the US.

Social Media Amplifies Voices of Stree Animals and Poor People

Dimple Bhavsar, Honorary Director of an NGO that works for street animals and poor people, said that during the coronavirus pandemic, many street animals were dying due to hunger and thirst.

She started a free service for animals with her brother and spread the word about their NGO on social media. People were moved by the plight of the animals and started donating. After their initial success, they expanded their work to help poor people as well.

They post updates about their work on social media, which has helped them receive donations and attract over 1,000 volunteers to their team.
