Mumbai: Cop arrested for harassing woman police officer

As per the police, Deshmukh was angry and believed that a complaint filed by the woman cop earlier had led to his transfer.

A cop was arrested on September 13 night for allegedly harassing a woman police officer in Mumbai.

The cop, Deepak Deshmukh, was held for harassing and sending obscene messages to the woman police officer, posted as Sub Inspector in Kurar Police Station.


As per the police, Deshmukh was angry and believed that a complaint filed by the woman cop earlier had led to his transfer. He, thus, started torturing her by sending her obscene messages.

The complainant told the police that Deepak Deshmukh abused and threatened her due to which she was compelled to approach the authorities.

Based on the complaint, Kurar police booked Deshmukh under Sections 354, 354 (D), and 509 of the IPC for outraging the modesty of a woman.
