Junior engineer snatches woman's earrings for bizarre reason
In a shocking and bizarre incident, a 31-year-old engineer allegedly snatched the gold earrings of a woman in Delhi’s Mansarovar Park area.
The reason behind snatching the gold earrings of a woman was the birthday celebrations.
The accused identified as Mohit Gautam alias Love, a resident of Jyoti Nagar in Shahdara, police said.
According to news agency PTI, Mohit wanted to meet expenses for his birthday celebrations, therefore, he snatched the woman’s earrings.
The incident came to light when a case was registered at Mansarovar Park police station on Friday, regarding the snatching of gold earrings of a woman by a bike-borne man.
During the investigation, police scanned over 30 CCTV footage and prepared an escape route for the accused. In the footage, police found some clips in which the snatcher was seen with a mask on his face. As per the police officer, there was no registration number on both the number plates of the vehicle.
On Sunday, police caught the motorcycle with the same features with blank number plates at the Jagatpuri wine shop. Police apprehended Gautam, the officer said.

During the interrogation, Gautam revealed that he is a junior engineer on a contract basis in the BSES. He further confessed that he snatched the gold earrings of the woman to celebrate his birthday on Sunday as he did not have enough money to celebrate his birthday.
Gautam further told police that he sold the earrings of the woman to a goldsmith, Surender, who is a resident of Ashok Nagar in Shahdara.
Meanwhile, Surender has been at large while Gautam has been arrested by the police.
