Delhi: 25-year-old man robbed, murdered on pretext of meeting through gay dating app
A shocking case was reported from Delhi where a 25-year-old man was allegedly robbed and murdered by a 20-year-old youth whom he met on a gay dating app. The deceased had been chatting on an app with the accuse from past few days, so, the accused asked him to meet him on a date. The deceased who was quite excited didn't know that he is walking into a death trap.
As per TOI, the incident took place in jungles of Aali Vihar in southeast Delhi and came to light on the evening of 5th September. The body had several stab injuries. In an attempt to identify the body the police noticed that the victim's mobile phone was missing.
During the further probe, they discovered that his phone is switched off and the last location of the phone was found around Gautampuri area near Badarpur. They further investigated and found that the victim was in touch with a certain phone number which was registered in the name of Pankaj, a resident of Gautampuri.

However, soon they found out that the number is being used by the accuse identified as Dabba. On Saturday evening police detained him and during strict interrogation, he broke down and confessed to the murder and told that with the help of a friend he committed the crime.
He told the police that after fixing a date with the victim he took him for a bike ride in jungles and stopped at an isolated area where his friend (second accuse) was already present. At first, they tried to rob the victim, however, he resisted, so they stabbed him with a knife and fled with his belongings.
The cops later arrested Kartik and recovered the victim's mobile stolen by them. The bike used in the crime was also seized. Kartik is involved in four cases of assault, attempted murder and other offences.
