Let us know what is Alopecia and its treatment...
Alopecia or alopecia areata is of various types and usually occurs in women aged 30-50. It is an autoimmune disorder that causes hair fall in clumps.
People suffering from alopecia may lose hair in the scalp, eyebrows, and eyelashes. For some people the hair loss problem can be cured on its own while for others it continues for life.
Here’s what you can do if you are suffering from alopecia:
Currently, there is no proper treatment for alopecia areata. However, some forms of treatment can be taken by a patient suffering from the disease.
The most common form of treatment suggested by a doctor can help the hair re-grow more quickly.
Corticosteroids are powerful anti-inflammatory drugs prescribed by doctors that can suppress the immune system. This can be administered through local injections, orally, or topical ointment application.
Other medicines that many doctors prescribed to treat alopecia that either promote hair growth or affect the immune system are DPCP, SADBE, Anthralin, and Minoxidil.
However, these medicines can help in the re-growth of the hair not help in preventing the formation of new bald patches.
Well, if you are suffering from alopecia then you must consult a doctor before taking any medicines or home treatment.
