Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio opened Zuhair Murad’s Autumn/Winter 2018-19 show in Paris yesterday, marking the first time that she has walked for the Lebanese designer.
The 37-year-old was first down the catwalk in a plunging Tudor-style dress with a daring plunge, dramatic cape and chunky belt. The thick black fabric was embroidered with gold, red and white floral motifs, giving a regal feel. The look was finished off with a small gold tiara and ankle boots.
Ambrosio also wore a Roman silver sparkling floor-length gown with cut outs at the waist.
Imperial Russia was Murad’s inspiration and every look was lavish, with military structure complemented by feminine shapes. The dark regal colour pallete was interrupted with blue and white, and many gowns included Fabergé-style motifs.
The final gown was a combination of every grand element from the show, with a rich, heavy bridal look showing off Murad’s incredible craftsmanship.
Ambrosio is walking first time for Zuhair Murad, she is a firm fan of the designer. During an exclusive Instagram takeover for Harper’s Bazaar Arabia she says: “Follow me as we’re going to get ready for one of my favourite designers.” She also posted a picture backstage with Murad, writing, “The man of the hour."
