Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio who received the Oscar award for his movie Revenant in the year 2016 has now voluntarily returned the award to the United States government. The Titanic fame DiCaprio has won only one Oscar in his life time for his biggest hit 'The Revenant'. But the Oscar award which he had returned to the US government is 'not the one he won' but the one he was gifted on his 38th birthday by Marlon Brando for 1954's On the Waterfront.
According to the LA Times, the gift was given to Leonardo DiCaprio by his business associate cum friend Red Granite Pictures, the production house that had produces his one of the biggest hit 'Wolf of Wall Street.' DiCaprio’s birthday present includes Brando's Oscar award, Picasso painting, Diane Arbus photograph and Jean-Michel Basquiat collage, by Jho Low.
According to the media reports the reason why DiCaprio returned his Oscar was the investigation going into a billion dollar fraud scheme involving the film 'The Wolf of Wall Street.'
