The production for Tom Cruise's upcoming movie ' Mission Impossible 6' has been halted after breaking his ankle while attempting a stunt during the shoot.
According to The Independent, Paramount Pictures has confirmed that the production of its latest instalment in the 'Mission Impossible' franchise had been paused after he was hurt filming in London over the weekend.
"During production on the latest Mission: Impossible film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt. Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery, and the film remains on schedule to open 27 July 2018," noted the statement from the production house.
The statement continued, "Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can't wait to share the film with everyone next summer."
Cruise is well-known for doing his own stunts which is rare for an A-list actor.
Stunts performed by Cruise for the latest film include driving a motorbike into a car in Paris, and parachuting in Oxfordshire.
'Mission: Impossible 6' is set for release in UK cinemas on 27 July 2018.
