Looks like Barbie is getting a documentary treatment!
Television network Hulu has ordered a documentary about the iconic doll, as announced recently at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
It is an addition to the upcoming live-action feature, in which Anne Hathaway is in talks to replace Amy Schumer.
The untitled project will take a retrospective look at Barbie's unexpected origins to becoming the most popular doll ever created. The film will include newly discovered footage and unprecedented access to the inner workings of manufacturer Mattel during a major Barbie reinvention.
The documentary will also look at 60 years of women in pop culture through the Barbie frame.
