Disney star Alyson Stoner has admitted that talking about her sexuality was scary, but now, she feels more herself than ever.
The 24-year-old, in an emotional essay, had talked about her experience of falling in love with a woman.
Talking about what it was like to come forward with her truth, the 'Step Up' star told E! Online, "Most importantly for me are all of the messages that I am receiving from young people and people of all ages sharing their stories, saying they found themselves within my article. That's why I shared it."
She further revealed that though she was glad she finally got honest about who she was, it was "a little bit scary" due to the "sense of unknown" and "how people will respond safety wise."
In her piece, published in Teen Vogue, Stoner had recalled the time she fell in love with her dance instructor. She had further revealed she attended therapy for years as she was trying to figure out where her attraction was stemming from.
"I, Alyson, am attracted to men, women, and people who identify in other ways," Stoner had concluded in her essay. "I can love people of every gender identity and expression. It is the soul that captivates me. It is the love we can build and the goodness we can contribute to the world by supporting each other's best journeys."
