It's confirmed! Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are calling it quits.
The news, first reflected by TMZ, read that the 44-year-old-actress has filed for divorce from Affleck, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
'After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time,' read a joint statement from the couple at the time.
The statement continued, 'This will be our only comment on this private family matter. Thank you for understanding.'
The representatives of both the actors have declined to comment on the situation. The pair announced that they were getting a divorce in June 2015.
Garner, 44, and the ' Live by Night' started dating in 2004 after they worked together on ' Pearl Harbor' (2001) and ' Daredevil' (2003). The couple got engaged in 2005 and got married two months later in June in a private ceremony.
They have three children together - two daughters, 11-year-old Violet and eight-year-old Seraphina, and five-year-old son Samuel.
Recently, Affleck thanked Garner via Facebook for supporting him caring for their kids while he was on the road to recovery from alcohol addiction.
He wrote, 'I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront. I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step.'
The post further read, 'I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.'
According to TMZ, the couple is negotiating a financial settlement. The divorce could become final in as little as six months.
