Rupinder Pal Singh, one of the best drag-flickers of the world and a great penalty corner expert, was born on 11 November 1990. Rupinder is a professional Hockey player and and he had represented India in the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, 2014 Asian Games at Incheon and the Summer Olympic Games of 2016 at Rio de Janeiro.
Even though Rupinder is best drag-flicker of the world yet the athlete have one more image in the minds of his fans. Rupinder is also the king of social media in the Indian hockey team. Early life and struggle of Rupinder
Rupinder plays Hockey for Indian team and he was born in the Sikh family. Rupinder started playing hockey just at the age of eleven. The professional journey of Rupinder in hockey began after he landed himself in the Chandigarh Hockey Academy. Rupinder got selected in Indian Hockey team in the year 2010. From the year 2010, he is continuously playing for Indian hockey team. Other than playing for national hockey team of India, Rupinder also plays for Delhi waver doors and Indian Overseas Bank. Rupinder is also an employee of the Overseas bank.
When Rupinder Pal Singh shot to fame
Rupinder started playing professional Hockey in the year 2010. Rupinder also participated in the 'Sultan Azlan Shah Cup', in which the Indian Hockey team had successful won Gold medal in the tournament. In the same tournament, Rupinder has also managed to land a hat-trick on his name against the British team. Rupinder's hat-trick against Britain helped him in making a successful career in Hockey. Rupinder was placed on the Hockey team as the replacement of Sandeep Singh in the team.
Rupinder in the Hockey India League
In the Hockey India League, the Delhi team (Delhi Waveriders) selected him to play for their side by paying a total sum of USD 56,000. While talking about Delhi Waveriders, Rupinder was quoted as saying, "I was surprised when the Delhi side picked me up for such a huge money, but the tournament gave me a good platform to hone my skills, Spending time with players like Sardar Singh and Nicolas Jacobi made me improve my game a lot and it showed in my performance, Even though we lost to Ranchi in the final, the team had a good run in the tournament."
The Punjabi boy even proved his worth to the team by scoring seven goals for Delhi Waveriders in the tournament. In the first season of the tournament, his side finished second in the league. In the second season of the Hockey India League Rupinder's team won the tournament. In the year 2016, Rupinder was declared player of the tournament in the Hockey India League.
