Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the revised schedule on Friday for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2020 on its official website. Candidates who have applied for the UPSC IAS examination can check the new schedule released for their first stage examination.
The examination timetable is available at upsc.gov.in.
According to the new schedule, UPSC will conduct the preliminary examination on October 4, 2020. While the main examination will be conducted on January 8, 2021.
Earlier, the commission scheduled the prelims examination on May 31, but due to coronavirus outbreak, the date was postponed.
Candidates who will qualify the first stage exam of UPSC will be eligible to appear for the main examination that will be held in January 2021.
While aspirants who will qualify the main exam will have to appear for the personality test or interview.
This year, around 10 lakh candidates have registered for the UPSC preliminary examination. Reportedly, every year around seven lakh candidates apply for India’s one of the prominent and toughest examinations.
