The Union Public Service Commission, UPSC has yet to announce the new dates for the civil services preliminary examination 2020 on its official website.
As per the official calendar, UPSC mentioned that the preliminary examination will be held on May 31, 2020. Due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, students who have applied for the examination are having confusion about whether the exam will be held on the official date or not.
Earlier, UPSC said that the dates for the Civil Services exam 2020 (prelim), Engineering Services (Main), and the Geologist (Main) examination had already been announced. If any rescheduling of the date will be done, then it will be notified on the official website of the UPSC, the commission said.
Due to the surge in the coronavirus cases in India, several boards, competitive, and recruitment examinations have been postponed until further notice.
As of now, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday extended the lockdown till May 17.
Besides, the UPSC had already postponed the Civil Services Personality Exam 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new dates for the personality test are expected to be released before this month ends.
In the wake of coronavirus, UPSC had also postponed its NDA and NA (I) Exam 2020 which was scheduled to be held on April 19.
So, candidates are advised to keep their eyes on the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in. Candidates should keep doing their preparation for the UPSC CSE prelims exam and wait for the further notice.
