Union Public Service Commission has finally announced the final result for civil services exam 2018 on its official website.
The topper of UPSC who scored AIR-1 is Kanishak Kataria, BTech student from IIT Bombay. Kataria has qualified the examination with Mathematics as his optional subject for the UPSC main exam.
As per the leading media portals, Kataria also thanked his parents and his girlfriend for all their moral support.
"It's a very surprising moment. I never expected to get the 1st rank. I thanks my parents, sister and my girlfriend for the help and moral support," Mr Kataria said, quoted by ANI.

Kanishak Kataria is from Rajasthan and is currently working as a data scientist. Earlier, he was also a member of the institute’s placement cell.
For his tremendous performance in India’s toughest exam, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has congratulated him on his official Twitter handle.
He tweeted:

However, Kanishak is from Rajasthan and is currently working as a data scientist. Previously, he has been a member of the institute's placement cell.
UPSC has finally released its main written examination of UPSC Civil Services 2018 on its official website at upsc.gov.in. on Friday evening.
This year, a total of 759 candidates have qualified the exam and out of the total 577 men and 182 women would be appointed for positions like IAS, IPS, IFS and other posts.
